Boots opticians were established in 1983 and in 2008 they celebrated 25 years of providing outstanding eyecare. In 2009, Boots opticians merged with Dolland & Aitchison making a total chain of 690 stores making them one of the largest eyesight providers in Britain.
Boots Eye Tests
Boots emphasise the importance of having your eye’s tested at least once every two years in order to ensure your eye health is at its optimal level. Boots opticians can investigate through eye tests whether you have any underlying diseases such as diabetes or whether you have any eye sight problems which can be easily corrected with a prescription.
During an eye test at Boots Opticians, the optometrist will carry out a number of eye sight tests in order to evaluate your eye health in depth. Some of these tests will be very familiar such as the eye test chart which involves reading letters from top to bottom from a chart. Other tests will be very unfamiliar, however at Boots the opticians ensure you are made very comfortable and they will talk you through each test and what the tests involve.
At the end of the test the optician will gather your results together and talk you through your results and whether you require prescription glasses or contact lenses.
Boots opticians will also discuss with you about your typical eye health and they may offer products and advice regarding minor eye health problems such as dry eye syndrome.
The Boots eye test is painless and should last approximately 25 minutes. The eye test itself will typically take 15 minutes, however extra time will be needed to gather the results and give explanations.
